Alpha Outside was founded in 2022 by Chad Annon with a simple goal: help hunters make informed decisions and provide equipment they can trust in the field.
After spending eight years in the archery industry with BBSK Archery, Chad saw firsthand that choosing the right equipment isn't just about specifications—it's about understanding how someone hunts, where they hunt, and what they'll appreciate long after the purchase. That same philosophy continues to guide Alpha Outside today.
Today, Alpha Outside specializes in thermal optics, offering carefully selected scopes and monoculars backed by real-world hunting experience, honest recommendations, and continued support after the sale. Whether you're purchasing your first thermal or upgrading your current setup, our goal is to help you find the optic that best fits your hunting style—not simply sell you the most expensive one.
As Alpha has grown, so have the services we offer. In addition to thermal optics, Alpha Outside now provides firearm sales and FFL transfers, with a growing emphasis on predator hunting rifles and complete night hunting systems. Suppressor sales and additional NFA services are also planned as the business continues to expand.
Beyond equipment sales, Chad operates Alpha Drone Services, providing thermal drone deer recovery and aerial services throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. As an FAA Part 107-certified pilot, fully insured, and licensed as a West Virginia Guide/Outfitter, Chad brings the same professionalism and attention to detail to recovery work as he does to every customer interaction.
Alpha Outside is also home to The Alpha Outside Podcast, where hunters, industry professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts share hunting stories, discuss gear, and exchange ideas from the field. Chad is also the founder of the Alpha Games, a predator hunting tournament built around fair competition, ethical hunting, and strengthening the hunting community.
At its core, Alpha Outside is built on relationships. Many of our customers become repeat customers, friends, hunting partners, and even introduce other hunters to the Alpha community. We believe customer service doesn't end when the sale is complete, and we're always happy to answer questions, share experiences, and help fellow hunters get the most from their equipment.
