Alpha Outside was founded in 2022 by Chad Annon with a simple goal: help hunters make informed decisions and provide equipment they can trust in the field.
After spending eight years in the archery industry with BBSK Archery, Chad saw firsthand that choosing the right equipment isn't just about specifications or buying the most expensive option. It's about understanding how someone hunts, where they hunt, and what equipment will actually work for them. That same philosophy continues to guide Alpha Outside today.
Alpha Outside specializes in thermal optics and night hunting equipment, offering thermal scopes, monoculars, and accessories from brands we know and trust. More importantly, our recommendations are backed by real-world hunting experience. Whether you're buying your first thermal or upgrading your current setup, our goal is to help you find the equipment that best fits the way you hunt—not simply sell you the most expensive option.
As Alpha has grown, so have the services we offer. Alpha Outside is now a federally licensed firearms dealer and SOT, offering firearm sales and transfers, suppressor sales, NFA services, electronic fingerprinting, and eForms processing. We have a growing focus on predator hunting rifles and complete night hunting setups, helping customers put together systems where the rifle, suppressor, optic, mounting system, and accessories all work together.
Beyond equipment sales, Chad operates Alpha Drone Services, providing thermal drone deer recovery and other aerial services throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. As an FAA Part 107-certified pilot, fully insured and licensed as a West Virginia Guide/Outfitter, Chad brings the same professionalism and attention to detail to recovery work as he does to Alpha Outside.
Alpha Outside is also home to The Alpha Outside Podcast, where hunters, industry professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts share hunting stories, talk gear, discuss tactics, and exchange ideas from the field.
Chad is also the founder of The Alpha Games, a predator hunting tournament series built around fair competition, ethical hunting, and strengthening the predator hunting community. Alpha Games events bring hunters together while creating opportunities to introduce new hunters, youth, and families to the sport.
At its core, Alpha Outside is built on relationships and real-world experience. Many of our customers become repeat customers, friends, hunting partners, and introduce other hunters to the Alpha community. We believe customer service doesn't end when the sale is complete.
